So, I was waaaaaay wrong about the Seahawks getting killed by the Saints. I was completely shocked that the lowly Hawks could do that to Drew Brees and the defending Super Bowl champs. So now, I must give the Seahawks some props. That Lynch run was probably one of the most amazing sports plays I have ever seen in my entire life. Seriously, how can 8 Saints players not take him down? And that stiff arm was so crazy awesome.
With the first round of playoffs over, now we can look at the next round. First, we have the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Good old rivalry game with the two teams splitting the series so far. The Ravens are coming off a game where they played nearly perfect football and manhandled the Chiefs. Meanwhile the Steelers had a nice week off to get somewhat more healthy. My prediction for this game is that the Steelers will emerge victorious and defeat the Ravens 27-24.
Next, the Green Bay Packers travel to Georgia to take on the Atlanta Falcons. This is probably the best of the four games being played this weekend. The two met in Week 12 where the Falcons beat the Packers 20-17. This game is going to be soooo good and picking this game is going to be hard. The Falcons are coming off a bye week where as the Packers just beat Michael Vick and the Eagles. Winner of this game is probably going to the Super Bowl and, as it pains me to say this, I am going to pick against the Packers and say that the Falcons will defeat the Packers 24-21.
On Sunday at 1 ET, we have the "stinker" game of the weekend, the Chicago Bears playing host to the Seattle Seahawks. Originally, I had the Saints playing the Bears and beating them, but now I must re-analyze this game. The Seahawks cannot be underestimated now, but the Bears have been playing pretty good football recently (save for that beating by the hand of the Patriots). Honestly, I think that the Seahawks caught lightning in a bottle during the last game and that they will lose to the Bears 27-13.
Finally, the game that I will be waiting for: the New York Jets travel back to Foxbourogh and meet up with the New England Patriots. The rivals met twice, splitting the season though the Patriots beat down the Jets 45-3 on Monday Night Football in Week 13. The Patriots have been a totally different team since they got beat by the Browns and are manned by the probable-MVP of the league Tom Brady. Now, I could talk for hours about the Pats and my man crush on Brady, but I won't get into that. Predicition: Patriots 35, Jets 27.
Tonite, the BCS championship game is being played. Not really big on college football, so I will say that Oregon will stop Cam Newton and win.
Thursday, I will be reviewing some comics, Amazing Spider-man #651, Avengers #8, and possibly Black Panther #513 and #514.
Before I go, my prayers go out to the families of those killed or injured in the Arizona shooting.
Peace.
